Bill wasn't up for walking all the way back to the Venetian,
and just on the quiet, I think I was equally happy to catch a taxi.
Friday the 15th... our last day in Vegas.
One thing I'd always hoped to do at some time in my life was to
visit the Liberace Museum, so here was our opportunity.
I have to confess, I expected a big, glitzy building and was
pleasantly surprised to find that the first of the two buildings,
well away from the craziness of the Strip, is a very ordinary
looking place. The second one is a little different, as you will
see later !

I learned something new about the man who had been my
"heart-throb"
since I was about five years old. Like Elvis, he also had a twin brother
who died at birth.
I was a little disappointed that there was no reference anywhere
to the concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1956, where,
along with Mum, Dad and Maggi, I'd had the privilege of experiencing
Liberace's genius live on stage. Shortly after that night, I received
one of my lifelong treasures... a hand written letter and signed photo
which, to this day, hang on the wall above my keyboard.
Here's some of his car
collection...
