Returning to my room
around 11pm after my very long, eventful day,
(having experienced that weird phenomenon of living 12th June twice
with virtually no sleep in between) I realised that I had no idea
where to go for breakfast the next morning, and even if I did,
I don't particularly like eating alone in public places,
especially half a world from home. It was then that I noticed
the room service menu next to the gold-packaged chocolates on my pillow.
There were no prices listed, but hey, how much could they charge for
a glass of pineapple juice, a single serve box of granola, a glob of
yoghourt
and a sliced banana ? (Half a banana, actually.) I found out at 8am the
next
morning that they could (and did) charge $36.90 !!
Back in Melbourne, Bill had successfully acquired a new passport and
rescheduled
his flight just 24 hours late, and was due to arrive in Vegas around 1pm.
I decided to wait in the hotel for him and give Krista and her family time
to do some of the things they'd planned before meeting up again.
It was somewhere around 2pm by the time he arrived at the Venetian,
and after a quick clean-up, he was ready to hit the town. (He has no
trouble sleeping on planes !)
