Sydney,

When we
got back to the hotel (around 6pm) I noticed my phone had two SMS messages,
one of which was actually from Friday night but it hadn't come through.
They
were both from a friend of mine, Lenore, who I originally met through the
'net,
but have spent time with when she's been in Melbourne,
and I've visited
her twice when I've gone up to Sydney.
I'd emailed her and let her know we
would be in town,
and she was messaging me to try to catch up.
I called her
and it worked out that she wasn't busy that evening,
so we met up with her for
dinner.
It was good to catch up again, and she and Bill got on really well
too.
She doesn't like driving in the city, so she'd parked her car at her
friend's apartment
and walked in from there... about a twenty minute walk.
That was fine at 8pm when it was light, but she didn't want to walk back alone
and was going to catch a taxi, but instead of that,
Bill and I walked back
with her, and then all the way back to our hotel,
which, of course, was in the
opposite direction !
So that turned out to be about a 50 minute walk for us !
Walking
back through Hyde Park
I took these pics of the ANZAC
War Memorial
This is from the back...
Front view
with the Reflecting Pool
The HP on
the walkway is not for Harry Potter...
it's Hyde Park !
And these of Sydney Tower...
You know by now that I like unusual angles...
