Gold Coast, Queensland

We picked up our
rental car from Avis
and headed off to Robin's sister's house
at Upper Coomera, not far from where we had booked in at the Coomera
Motor Inn.
After a cuppa and a
catch-up, we went to check in, but our room wasn't ready yet
so we went and found a cafe where we could have lunch.
At this point, I should mention that although it wasn't particularly hot (around
28C or 82F)
the humidity was extreme and exhausting for us "Mexicans"
and I remembered why, 30 years previously, I'd sworn I would never
visit Queensland in summer again !
Robert, Robin,
Lesley (Robin's Mum) and the kids met up with us a bit later
and off we went to explore Surfer's
Paradise.
After browsing some
of the tourist orientated shops, we found ourselves face to face
with a challenge we couldn't resist... well, some of us couldn't, anyway...
This has to be the most awesome ride I've ever been on.
Here's Mitchell
(well, you can almost see him !) with Ewan as they fly out of the launch
crater...
...
skyward... at a tremendous rate of knots !
Robert and
Cameron waiting to be lowered ready for countdown...
... 3... 2... 1... and
they're off...

... into the wild blue yonder !
Upside down, over and over
for five bounces... brilliant !

They all
had so much fun that they stayed on for a second ride,
so we girls were getting a bit impatient by the time our turn came around.

Maddie's legs aren't really
longer than mine... just that hers were flying out
and mine were dangling !

Naturally, we went for
seconds too, despite the fact that Maddie seemed a little anxious
when we appeared to be stuck upside down momentarily as we came down on the last
bounce.
The whole ride was captured on video, so I'm waiting for Robert and Robin to get
back so
I can have a copy.
That's
Ewan walking in front of the camera.
