We'd pre-booked our accommodation for that night in Tintagel  where we had
hoped to stay at Camelot Castle. Unfortunately, to get in there during the summer
season, I think you'd need to book a couple of years in advance ! We'd found
a pleasant alternative though, at Penallick Hotel. Now all we had to do was
get there before bedtime !

We actually made it a fraction before 9pm, feeling a little tired and quite hungry.
The owners told us that if we were very lucky, we may still be able to get a meal
at a hotel down the road a short way. What they didn't tell us was that the road
was barely wide enough for one vehicle with tall hedgerows on both sides
and had about a 45 degree gradient ! We arrived too late for a meal, but the view
of the sunset more than compensated for our hunger. It's obviously "THE" place to
congregate to watch the sunset, as there were what seemed like hundreds of people
sitting outside, some at tables, some on the rock walls and some on the ground.

Here's four slightly different angles as we walked higher up the path trying to
gain an unimpeded vantage point. (I've removed a few spare heads along the way.)

A toast to Tintagel's glorious sunset. (Pineapple juice !)
This was originally two separate photos.

Bill's libation of choice was not pineapple juice !

By 9.23pm (according to the time on Maggi's photo, which I'm sure she'll have
on her website soon) the brilliantly glowing sphere had all but disappeared
beyond the Atlantic horizon.

Don't know why Bill wanted a photo of us sitting on this wall but we were more
than willing to oblige.
