These are also Bill's photos.

The sign reads:

Sir John de Broughton (d 1315)

This is the tomb of
Sir John de Broughton
the builder of the church
and was restored to
its medieval colours
in the 19th century

Commemorations to the Fiennes family.

Leaving the chapel and walking back to the car, we were approached by a tall, stately
lady who asked if we were with the party at the castle. Maggi's friend politely told her
we weren't, and she remarked that the castle was actually closed to the public, and
said something about the car being parked there. Maggi's friend apologised and as
the lady turned and walked away, she told us that was Lady Saye... owner of the castle !
