Burnham Beeches
9th July

Our adventure in the miniature world done,
we headed back in the direction of Slough,
with the intention of exploring Burnham Beeches
on the way. First though, I had to have a photo
of the old pump at Farnham Royal.

I used to ride my bike up to where it stood
in the centre of a cross road, and I would sit
for hours with my sketch pad and pencils.

Seems it disappeared for 21 years, and has been
in its current location since 1993.
More about it and the area here.

Burnham Beeches, a beautiful woodland where we used to picnic in the "good old days".
It has been the location of many movies, including the very old Robin Hood, as well
as the more recent Kevin Costner version

Cuppa time at The Dell, before exploring the woods.
Bill and I did the same thing three years ago. (Last pic)

I'll try not to bore you with too many "tree photos", but I have to put some in because
it's such a pretty spot.

I love that "dappled" sunlight...

... and there are some really majestic old trees.

One of the ponds.

I'm almost positive this is the same area where
these (9th and 10th pics) were taken.

Maggi has short legs too !
