The meals on the train were tasty, ample and beautifully presented.
Apologies for not taking photos of them but I didn't give it a thought.
(Can you believe that... ??!!!)

After brekkie we gathered our luggage together in preparation
for our arrival in Alice Springs. The landscape took on a
distinctly diverse appearance as we approached the outskirts
of town...

I shan't pass comment here. Again, ask me if it's not apparent to you.

We've arrived !!

From the middle of the train, neither end is visible.

I walked to the front to take this while Bill waited for our
checked baggage. It took several minutes to do the distance.
When the Ghan is travelling at 100 kph (60mph) it takes 2km
(1.25 miles) to stop.
